A writer must constantly try new things so he or she may describe the mundane in ways that are unique and new.  I have always been quite active with a tendency toward overdoing.  So many things are on my plate that only by chiding myself do I actually take time to put words on paper.  Below are only a few of my favorite things to do.

  • Scuba Diving - There's nothing like the tranquility of being forty-five feet below with a small view port opening onto another world of color and life.

  • Motorcycling - Then again, there's nothing like the solitude of riding an iron horse on a lazy road trip through the Smokey Mountains.

  • Camping - Let's face it -- There's nothing like the wholesomeness of camping in wilderness areas to humble the spirit.
